Course Overview

This exercise-filled workshop is a two day exploration of collaboration and facilitation for Agile teams. The class is based in part from Jean Tabaka's acclaimed book Collaboration Explained. Through these exercises, participants learn and apply facilitation tools and techniques that support a collaborative mode of decision making for the planning, daily interactions, and reviews of Agile Software Development project teams.

Ronica will lead participants in evaluating collaboration versus command-and-control leadership styles; collaborative decision-making; and then all the vital facilitation around the Agile work of planning for and running collaborative meetings and interactions.  Working in small teams, every participant facilitates at least one of the many exercises.

Besides learning to plan collaborative meetings, each person practices helping teams gather insights and come to decisions without taking over any decisions themselves! Be prepared to be on your feet, be challenged, and watch your skills grow!  And before ending, the newly anointed facilitators to build their own toolkits of tools and techniques to take back to their Agile teams.
